“BLUE DIODE”-the sophisticated and sexy side of the last attraction. Good vibes for the blue skies of spring. An homage to bossa nova, cool jazz, and soundtrack music. Sensible e urbano ma non troppo. Cocktail hour with evening attire for guitars, vibes, and synth. Jeans, T-shirt, and sneakers will get you turned away at the door. But you can take it to the beach or to lounge by the pool. Urs Ringli flew in from Zurich with some Alpine Mojitos to do the suave bass line. Cadenza Flourish let us borrow her vibraphone, played the dapper drum part with some slick variations, and programmed that extra sparkle on our CR-78. She’s definitely one of Berlin’s best session players. And she did the artwork using a photo of her sister’s boutique in San Juan. Val von Lindenau came over with some good vibes, convinced us to not redo anything, and did some Eno treatments on the synth.
